The long ramp is totally impractical for building pyramids. The difficulty of physically hauling massive stone blocks up a large ramp would be compounded by the need for hauliers to lift their own weight in addition to their burden. A ramp shallow enough to overcome this problem would require more labor to construct and dismantle than the pyramid itself, and there is no evidence of the massive amount of material that would be needed to build it. Such a ramp would bury the entire face of a pyramid.
